Korea Fisheries Association has announced the holding of the 19th Seoul International Seafood Show 2023 from April 27th to 29th (3 days) at COEX B Hall, Samseong-dong, Seoul, with the aim to promote the export of seafood products and domestic consumption.

The exhibition, supported by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and sponsored by National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives, Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corp., and Korea Fishery Trade Association, will be featuring a wide variety of trendy seafood products produced by around 150 domestic and international companies including Dongwon Industries and National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives.

The very first event hosted by Korea Fisheries Association after winning the rights to host focuses on promoting the marketing and trades of corporate participants, but also offers a specialized export consultation session for which overseas big buyers are invited.

The exhibition program enables easy access for domestic and overseas buyers to visit the booths of their interests by allocating an independent showcase zone where the participants’ flagship products and home meal replacements (HMRs) are exhibited at the same site.

There is also a planned 2023 Seoul International Seafood Awards where the winners will receive invitation to join the next year’s exhibition, based on the survey results taken by the distributors and consumer groups on their favorites among the showcased items.

A number of seminars will also be held during the exhibition.

On the first day, Korea Fisheries Association and Korean Society of Fisheries and Aquatic Science will hold a joint seminar on the Ocean Environment and Seafood Safety. On the second day, Korea Maritime Institute and Aquaculture Stewardship Coucil will each hold a seminar respectively under the themes of ‘Trends in foreign market entry to promote the export of fisheries products in the endemic era’ and ‘Korean cultured fisheries products to reach global competitiveness with ASC.’

Meanwhile, Chairman Younghoon Chung of Korea Fisheries Association has expressed his strong will to establish a global network of fisheries products in Seoul, the center of Korea’s distribution and consumption, to actively support domestic companies with their entry into foreign markets.
